is an account of Miss Elizabeth Sarah Brisco's childhood voyages round Cape Horn.
According to her story, one voyage took place when she was 10 years old, during
which, a Norwegian sailor died.
Nearly 7 years later her father died at sea.
She was born in 1881 and her father died in 1900. This tale places the 12-month
voyage between 1891 & 1893.
Ships articles for the "Florence Stella" in which her father Captain Robert William Brisco had a 4/64th share, shows it made a voyage from Barry Wales on the 28th May 1891 to Iquique Chile via Montevideo Uruguay and terminating in Newport Mon. Wales on the 28th March 1892. Onboard was a Norwegian Able Seaman G. Hanson who died on the 26th June 1891 and was buried at sea at Latitiude 7.22 North Longitude 23.58 West.
